The NZXT H210 is one of the best budget Mini ITX case you can find on today’s market. It was released in the fall of 2019 and is still available on NZXT’s website to this day. Although NZXT offers almost the same case design as for it’s mid tower series, the NZXT H210 is the stripped down and most base form of this design. When you look at this case first-hand, you can tell it is a well-made minimalist case with a sleek design that makes it easy to carry around.

NZXT offers two version of the NZXT H210, the base form and the H210i. These compact cases come in three colors respectively as well, Matte White, Matte Black, and Matte Black/Red.
The main difference between these two cases is that one includes RGB lighting and a fan control module. This allows the H210i to take full advantage of NZXT’s cam software that you can download off their website. The program allows you to see everything in regards to your computer such as temperature, storage device usage, RAM usage, lighting controls, and more. A $30 price difference is a small price to pay when alternatives would cost $50+. Although these cases are small, they have the space to install an liquid cooling if needed. The case includes a removeable bracket that is meant to install radiators up to 240mm for closed-loop or custom-loop water cooling. When you include the potential of water cooling, gamers can build a pretty strong overclocked gaming pc using this case.
The back panel includes a cable routing kit with zip ties. You can use the case design to route your cables with minimal effort and resistance.

Of all of the NZXT cases, the H210 is their most affordable at a humble price of $79.99. In my opinion, I believe that any case priced under $100 is too good to be true. Mainly because we live in a world where you get what you pay for. However, NZXT offers such great cases, that even their lowest tiered case has an average of 4-5 stars on any platform it’s sold on.
Having said that, the difference between the H210 and the H210i is that the latter comes with case lighting and fan control. The $30 price difference for case lighting and a fan control module make the upgrade pretty worth since alternatives can cost more.
Final Thoughts on this Case
I would highly consider the H210 if my goal was to build a small gaming PC for casual gameplay on mid to high settings. Although this case has exceptional air flow for a compact case, smaller cases in general retain more heat than a mid tower or full tower case. If I truly wanted to max out frames per second and component temperatures, I would go with a bigger case. However, this case is perfect for entry level gamers or people who don’t play games for long periods of time. Since this is their most affordable case, it is possible to build a gaming computer that can outperform any gaming console for a lower price.

The NZXT H510 series is definitely one of NZXT’s most popular case. As a mid tower pc case, this case provides all of the features a veteran gamer needs. ATX motherboards provide more options than their Mini-ITX counterparts meaning almost any build in a mid tower can outperform a smaller build.

NZXT offers four versions of the H510 model. There’s the base form form, the H510i, the H510 Elite, and the H510 Flow. Similar to the H210 series, the base model is the standard design while the H510i includes 2x RGB lighting strips and a fan control module pre-installed. The H510 Elite, however, adds a front panel glass and replaces on of the RGB strips with 2x RGB fans that are mounted on the front. Finally, the H510 Flow is similar to base form but focuses more on airflow. It includes a front mesh panel to allow air flow from the front of the case to the back. NZXT released this model after hearing significant feedback to provide even more airflow since the space allowed it.

What is the main differences between the NZXT H510 vs H510i vs Elite?
Similar to its other case models created by them, NZXT likes to offer two versions of their cases in general, the base model and RGB with Fan control model. The H510i adds 2x RGB lighting strips while the H510 Elite includes 1x RGB strip but 2x RGB case fans as well. Since they are producers of high quality addons for CPU cooling and RGB lighting, it makes sense that they would be able to bundle up a few features within their product lines.
Case Specifications
You can install 3x 2.5″ drives and 3x 3.5″ drives. This means you have a total of 6 drive bays for storage devices.
The removeable bracket is capable of holding 280mm radiators, which is an upgrade from the H210 and it’s 240mm limit. CPU’s tend to have a higher lifetime with water cooling temperatures than air cooling and NZXT accounts for that.
The H510i and the H510 Elite both have RGB features that can be seen through the tempered glass side panel. The H510i comes with 2x RGB strips while the H510 Elite comes with 1x RGB strip and 2x NZXT RGB fans. Both cases come with NZXT’s Smart Device v2 for fan and lighting control. The H510 Flow does not include lighting or a fan control module.
The H510i and the H510 Elite allows pc builders to install the GPU vertically. You will need to purchase a universal vertical GPU mounting kit. However, I highly recommend going with the NZXT vertical GPU mounting kit to ensure compatibility. The key difference between these kits is that the universal ones may not cover the latest graphic cards sizes and some don’t include the additional expansion slots in case you wish to install a Wi-fi card or audio card. The H510 Flow does not allow for vertical GPU mounts.
The H510 Flow is the only model in NZXT’s product line to feature a front mesh panel. It is a modified version of the base model and at the same price point. After much of the feedback from the gaming community, NZXT added a case that benefited those who opted for air cooling and those who would rather focus on performance than RGB lighting.

This case is the standard for more dedicated gamers or gamers who prefer first person shooter (FPS) games. FPS games are more enjoyable when there is little to no lag present. With a mid tower pc case, you can install larger components with more air flow potential. This case is perfect for pc builders on a budget who want to be able to play games on ultra settings. For less than $100, it’s a hard deal to beat.

In my opinion, the best NZXT cases are the Mid-Tower cases. The NZXT H710 series is perfect for more enthusiastic gamers. If you plan on building a monster water cooled pc, this case will provide everything you need to get the best results. Unlike the H510, the H710 provides enough spacing for a 3 fan radiator which makes a large difference in performance potential.

Being able to install a 3 fan AIO cooler will ensure you get the best performance from your CPU or GPU if you choose to use a closed loop. The H710 series case is a good starting point for pc building or gaming enthusiasts. Although there are 4 fan radiators available, there aren’t many options around to call that the minimum. Most 480mm radiator compatible cases are reserved for the high-end gaming pcs that go above and beyond the needed specs to reach Ultra settings. If you want to reach the best settings possible on any game without breaking the bank, this case is perfect for you.

NZXT’s Most Recent Cases
In May of 2022, NZXT launched it’s latest series of cases. The H5 and the H7 have officially made their debut. These cases may appear similar to the H510 and H710 series but there are a few upgrades to note that make these cases different. The biggest differentiating factor would have to be the additional fan that was installed on the bottom inside panel which is perfectly angled to cool down the GPU.

Overall, this PC case series is very similar to it’s predecessor, the H510 series. It falls under the same category as best case for a great gaming pc build on high settings. In comparison of the H510, you would be paying $5 more for one additional fan providing more air flow towards your GPU. However, you would have 3 drive bays available on the H5 whereas the H510 allows a total of 6. If you don’t plan on adding storage, it’s not a bad trade off.

The H7 series include a perforated top panel to allow air to flow through more easily. There is even enough clearance to install on the radiators up to 360mm top and front panels as well.
The H7 Elite comes with three pre-installed F Series RGB 140mm Fans, 1x pre-installed 140mm F Series Quiet Airflow Fan, built-in RGB lighting, and a Smart Device v2 controller.
This case is capable of supporting vertical GPU mounting although is it sold separately. However, here is a link to their NZXT vertical GPU mounting kit.
As for the front panel, it includes 2x USB 3.2 Type-A ports and 1x USB 3.2 Type-C port.
The H7 series supports 6x 2.5″ devices and 2x 3.5″ devices for a total of 8 drive bays. This appears to be a downgrade from the H710 that carries 9 drive bays. However, it’s a pretty good deal to trade one drive bay for an additional GPU fan. As a content creator, you’ll still have plenty of space available to store data if you fill each bay.

The biggest difference between the H710 series and the H7 series would have to come down to the additional fan that replaces one drive bay. The H7 series is considered the best NZXT pc case for enthusiast builders. I would much rather consider this trade off than the H5 series where it sacrifices 3 drive bays to accomplish the same.
